Can two of my children share a course?

powerspeaK¹² courses are designed to be used by one student because quizzes and tests are graded based on the responses of a single student. Although games and lessons can be reviewed as many times as needed, the quizzes and tests cannot be re-opened or retaken once they are completed.

Does the student have to follow a schedule or can he/she work at his/her own pace?

powerspeaK¹² courses have a built-in recommended pacing guide in the form of a daily lesson/activities calendar. The calendar assumes students complete one lesson per day; however, students may choose to follow the recommended schedule or work at their own pace.  The only official deadline is the course expiration date.

How long does it take to complete the course?

A full year course is based on a 180-day calendar and a semester course is based on a 90-day calendar.  Assuming the student completes 5 lessons a week, a full year course will be completed in 9 months and a semester course can be completed in 4 ½ months.  Students will have access to a full year or semester course for 12 months from the date of purchase.

Are there any physical materials that come with the course?

powerspeaK¹² is an entirely online course with interactive lessons, engaging activities, and periodic quizzes built into the system.  There are no hard copy instructional materials provided with the course.  Students will need to provide a microphone.

How much time do you recommend for a student to spend in foreign language course study each day?

Elementary school students are encouraged to spend about 30 minutes each day, 5 days a week. Middle school students are advised to spend 30-45 minutes, and high school students 45-60 minutes each day, 5 days a week. We believe that continuity and regular practice are essential components of learning a new language.

Will my child be able to do this?

Every child is an individual with unique strengths and needs. The best way to find out if one of our courses is a good match for your child is to try it out. How many courses do you have?

We have a total of 29 courses across 5 languages. These courses are designed with a clear progression mapped out for a student moving from elementary school to middle school and on to high school language study.

Is there a discount for a family with multiple users?

No, currently there’s no discount for a family with multiple children. However, we do run promotions from time to time and you could get discounts through our promotions.

Are you planning to add any additional languages or levels?
